It is likely that we will return to it in 2018 and that the tournaments will be similar to those for 2017 which are shown below; but this will be confirmed nearer the time.

The Quay is located next to Fisherrow Harbour, Musselburgh and has a free car park as well as free off-street car parking.
The Function Rooms are located on the First Floor, for which there is a lift, and are suitable for disabled and wheelchair users.
Catering will be available throughout the day.
Public Transport: Any bus from Edinburgh to Musselburgh.
LRT buses no 26, 30, 40, 44 and 45.

The Smerdon Trophy, in memory of Bill Smerdon, will be presented to
the highest finisher in the Open who is resident in the Lothians.

In the Minor Event, the highest placed junior, under 16 (on the day
of the tournament) and within the grading limit of 1000, will receive
Titled (GM, IM & FM) - Free

members, senior citizens and unemployed may deduct £1. Only one concession.

Rules (Allegro) of Chess Scotland
Time Limits: 25 minutes plus 5 seconds increment per move.
Prize Giving will be at 18.00 approximately
- Round 1 10.00 to 11.00
- Round 2 11.30 to 12.30
- Lunch Break
- Round 3 13.30 to 14.30
- Round 4 15.00 to 16.00
- Round 5 16.30 to 17.30
The organisers reserve the right to:
- Increase or decrease prize money.
- Transfer entrants between events.
- Split or merge events depending on numbers.
- Withhold prizes from ungraded players if they
play in events below their known strength.
- Take any other measures deemed necessary to
ensure the smooth running of the tournament.
