Juniper Green close down

We were saddened to hear that Juniper Green Chess Club have decided they can no longer continue. For some time they have managed to carry on with only around 6 players and have done exceedingly well to fulfill their matches - with a fair degree of success - in those circumstances. However it became apparent that they would not be able to guarantee more than around 4 this year so rather than incur defaults they have done the honourable thing and resigned from the League.

The club had been in existence for nearly 30 years and the members had made attempts to interest the local school which is only a few yards away, but sadly with little result.

We thank them for their hospitality over the years and wish their members well with whatever clubs they decide to join in the future.
