Pedal for Scotland and Junior Chess in Scotland

Pedal for Junior chess

Any reasonably fit, chess-loving peddlers around?
Do you want to raise money for junior chess?

Then join IM Craig Pritchett in the annual,
Glasgow-Edinburgh fun bike ride on Sunday 14th September.

Craig is raising a team for the
Scottish Junior Chess Association (SJCA) Educational Trust.

Every fourth team entrant goes “free”.
Full details about the ride can be found at

Pedal for Junior Chess Website

All you need to do is send a cheque to Craig, made out to SJCA Educational Trust,
to cover the entry fee £16 adults (£9 concessions) – if you want to book the bike
or personal transport from Edinburgh to Glasgow for the return route, please also
say and forward the relevant additional amount.

Craig has to register all “team” entrants and he will repay
pro rata discounts when he knows how many free “fourth” entrants we raise.

After reaching Edinburgh in the afternoon, Craig hopes to arrange a
supporting simul for juniors / allcomers to celebrate the occasion and raise more funds.

We need more funds for junior chess, this is the future of Scottish Chess.

(well done Geoff, a serious Chandler Corner at last....Ed)

Thank you.

(How about a junior game to round it off.....Ed)

Here is a game of chess played by the young Master Craig Pritchett in April 1964.

This was his first game to get published in the magazine Chess.
It was played in the fondly remembered annual Glasgow Individual Schools Championship.

I of course will be doing my own bit of peddling.
I'll be selling stolen bicycles at the car boot sale.

(sigh........Ed)
